Even though this song doesn't mention the Santa Fe Railway, but rather the L & N (Louisville and Nashville - a premier southern railroad in its day), it catches the spirit of the idea. This is the title cut from a CD that came out in '07 on the Rounder label, played by a great bluegrass outfit called Blue Highway. (3:08) And. . . since we're taking a little poetic license here, I'm going to go ahead and include some photos that are from rail lines other than just the Santa Fe. They're interesting pics - or at least that's what the "train lover" in me says. Anyhow, there have been guys (and gals of course, but mostly guys) with cameras around trains a lot, for a long, long time.
This is the last of the "Guys With Cameras" chapters. Next chapter we head to El Paso, Texas in the 1950's.
This is from a neat album (actually there are two of them) titled They Don't Write Songs About Trains Anymore Vol. 2, by Artese 'N Toad - Astonia label, 2005. (3:40)
